The Town of Deep River is currently seeking a candidate to fill the full-time position of Labourer/Truck Driver with the Public Works Department. The position of labourer/truck driver will be involved with a variety of construction, maintenance, and road repair services, infrastructure and property with a focus on safety.  

Qualifications required include an Ontario Class “G" driver's licence or Class “DZ” licence considered an asset, with a good driving record, Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent, with post-secondary training in good-roads-related courses considered an asset. Must have Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work independently, an excellent safety record, the ability to meet physical demands of the position, general knowledge of machinery for maintenance purposes and familiarity & competence in the operation of hand and power tools.

Compensation for this position will be in accordance with the CUPE 740 Collective agreement with the potential for comprehensive benefits in accordance with the Collective Agreement. This is a union position represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 740.
