Engineering and Administration Summer Student 

Discipline: Engineering (all fields are welcome to apply) or Public Administration

Year of Study: 1st year completed or higher

Location: Deep River, ON

The Town of Deep River has a number of exciting projects that an energetic, self-motivated and team-oriented engineering student could enjoy. This year, we continue to work on our asset management program, updating our asset inventory data for facilities and developing detailed five-to-ten-year capital investment plans. We are working on economic development projects, and have a number of projects on our water and sewer infrastructure.

You will work in a team that is enthusiastic and welcomes challenges. The environment is dynamic and flexible, so you should be adaptable and able to change focus and work across different projects. Your role will include data collection and analysis, general project management, and developing and presenting recommendations to the Town Council so good communication skills and working knowledge of Office software is necessary. Some experience with data analysis would be useful.

Much of the day will be spent working with our team in the office, with some outdoor fieldwork. Since you will be exposed to town infrastructure and construction sites, a commitment to safe working practices is required. The employment period generally runs from the beginning of May to the end of August.
