Senior’s E-Bike Program

Senior’s E-Bike Program

Thanks to funding provided by the Government of Ontario Senior Community Grant Program the Town of Deep River is pleased to announce the purchase of two E-bikes.  Starting Tuesday August 6th 2024, until March 31st 2025 the bikes will be available to borrow for those aged 55+ on a daily basis from the Town Hall Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm.  After this date the program will be extended to include all members of the community.

As part of this program there will also be some standalone bike clinics, run in conjunction with the Deep River Police and Deep River Library. Stay tuned for more details about these soon.

These Pedal Easy electric bikes have strong links to the Town, having originally been designed and engineered here in Deep River by Ron Wensell and his son Claudio, the business is now based in Ottawa.  Click on this link to view a video of Ron Wensel telling the story of Pedal Easy.
