Changes to Recycling Services and Depot Closure
Dear Resident,
We are writing to inform you about important changes to recycling services in our community as part of Ontario’s new Blue Box Program. This province-wide initiative shifts the responsibility for collecting and processing recyclable materials from municipalities to producers, effective January 1, 2025.

Recycling Depot Closure
Effective January 1, 2025, the Baggs Road Depot will no longer accept recyclable materials. This decision, made jointly by the Township of Laurentian Hills and the Town of Deep River, aligns with Ontario Regulation 392/21, which classifies the depot as a "convenience depot" since all residents receive curbside collection.
For more information about the regulation, visit: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/210391
Waste Collection
There are no changes to waste (garbage) collection schedules, bag limits, or contact information. Please direct waste collection inquiries to Deep River Public Works at:
Until January 1, 2025, all recycling inquiries should also be directed to Deep River Public Works.
We appreciate your cooperation and support as we transition to these important updates in recycling services. Together, we can make this change seamless and successful for our community.
