The Forest Management Plan is a 120-page report prepared by the County of Renfrew concerning Deep River's street trees, urban forest patches, and large forest areas. Most recommendations are geared towards Town staff; however, residents are encouraged to assist with invasive species (found on page 27 of the report) by taking garden waste to the landfills and/or pulling and disposing of plants that match the descriptions.
Of particular concern is garlic mustard, which is found near Lamure Beach. Its spread can be prevented by brushing off any seeds that stick to your clothing or pets before leaving the area.
