Deep River

Watermain Break

March 11th, 2026 - 8:30 AM

The Town is currently responding to a watermain break on Macdonald Street.

Crews will be going door to door for those directly impacted, notices will be taped to the door if there is no answer.

Crews are on-site and will remain on-site until the watermain break is repaired. Updates will be posted on the Town website and Facebook page.

Once water is restored, please only run the cold water until it is running clear.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.

Facility Closure

All Town of Deep River facilities will be closed as of 12:00 PM today, March 11, 2025, due to current and forecasted weather conditions. This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both staff and residents.

Facilities will re-open as normal tomorrow, March 12, 2026.

Please stay safe, avoid unnecessary travel, and if you must be on the roads, use extra caution and allow additional time.

Declaration of a Significant Weather Event

The Town of Deep River has declared a Significant Weather Event in response to Environment Canada’s Freezing Rain Warning. This declaration is pursuant to Ontario Regulation 239/02, Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways.

What this means:

  • A Significant Weather Event means winter maintenance timelines are temporarily suspended until conditions improve.
  • Public Works will remain active on the roads, but it may take longer than usual to achieve minimum maintenance standards.
  • Residents are asked to use caution when travelling and to be patient as crews work to keep roads and sidewalks safe.

Winter parking restrictions are in effect:

  • No on-street parking is allowed
  • Offending vehicles will be ticketed

A Significant Weather Event does not mean roads are closed or the Town is reducing its level of service. It simply alerts the public that due to the forecasted conditions, it may take longer than usual to bring the roads and sidewalks back to optimal conditions.

Please make sure to check the Town Facebook page and website for updates on facilities, programs and services.

Please stay safe and use extra caution if you must go out!
